Refund Policy
Last updated: Draft
This policy explains how refunds work for the Troth desktop app. The open-source core is free and is not covered here.
1. What you are buying
The Troth app is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. You pay once, receive twelve (12) months of updates, and the version you have keeps working after that. There are no recurring charges.
2. EU/EEA right of withdrawal and its waiver
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason.
For digital content supplied immediately, this right is lost once supply begins with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right. At checkout you will be asked to consent to immediate download and to acknowledge that, by doing so, you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal. If you give that consent and download or activate the App, the statutory 14-day refund no longer applies.
If you do not want to waive the right, do not download or activate the App during the 14-day period, and contact us to withdraw.
3. Goodwill refunds for genuine problems
Separately from any statutory right, if the App does not work as described, cannot be activated, or has a defect we cannot resolve, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will work with you and, where appropriate, issue a refund at our discretion.
Goodwill refunds do not cover: change of mind after download, problems caused by your own AI services or hardware, or your third-party provider costs (for example your Claude, ChatGPT, or API charges).
4. Effect of a refund on your license
Licenses may require online activation and validation. If a purchase is refunded or a payment is reversed (including a chargeback), the associated license may be revoked and the App may stop functioning. You must then stop using the App and delete all copies.
5. How to request a refund
Email hello@troth.one with your order number and the reason. We aim to respond within a few business days.
6. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
